Rush compressor upgrade job
A compressor upgrade job is planned at the oil refinery of Angarsk Petrochemical Company - a huge Rosneft plant in Siberia not very far from the Baikal Lake in Russia - to begin on 11.09.2009 and to finish within one month. During this month of the process unit shutdown the compressor is to be disassembled, old wet mechanical seals were to be removed, compressor body and systems were to be modified to accept a dry gas seal, newly made dry gas seals were to be installed, the compressor body is to be reassembled. A control panel for dry gas seals is to be installed and wired to the compressor control system. Well, one month is perfectly OK to do the compressor upgrade job, but we had very limited time to make the dry gas seals and the control panel. It happened so that the contract was signed only on 14.08.09 – less then one month before the planned shutdown. But the good thing is that we had another month to prepare the drawings. As of today, all parts have been finished and ready for assembly and further dynamic testing. In two weeks a truck with the dry gas seals and the control panel is to leave for Angarsk, Inshala! Edit: The compressor is running nicely now.
